QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW

Qualifications

  • Valid EMT-B Certification

  • Valid AHA Healthcare Provider CPR

  • Valid NJ Driver’s License

  • Possess CEVO - Ambulance, Emergency Operations Course (EVOC) or approved equivalent program.

  •  Availability on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends from 0600 – 1800 and 1800 – 0600.

  • Possess advanced ICS Training, 100, 200, 700, 800 online, 200, 300 in person for advancement. 400, in person for Upper management.

  • Knowledge and experience with medical and trauma assessments, and appropriate BLS protocols.

  •  Ability to work in high stress situations and effectively with supervisors, co-workers,  emergency service personnel, and hospital staff.

  •  Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Proficiency in patient care reporting systems and mandatory completion prior to end of your shift. 

  •  Must be able to read, speak, and write English sufficiently to perform duties.

Requirements

  • Complete mandatory training and upload it to our recording system.

  •  Ability to follow and comply with the Organizational chain of command.

  • Patience to train new members or Cadets.

  • Proficiency in lifting and moving, and using all EMS equipment.

  •  Proficiency in radio communication

  •  Incident Command and Operational   responsibilities.

  • Ability to be compassionate and caring when treating patients and/or engaging with family members. 

  • Responsibility for pre-shift rig checks and resupply medical equipment and medical supplies used during calls for service.

  • A Per-Diem EMT must have a minimum of one (1) year experience as a certified EMT.

  •  Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition which would not be adversely affected by lifting, carrying, and balancing at times, patients in excess of 125 pounds (250, with assistance)
